Not much to report yet. I checked in, moved into the dorm room I'll be living in until Sunday, went to the store, and I've been relaxing at my computer since. I've met several corps members, and I just met my roommate, Julie. We have a barbecue/"Corps Member Olympics" this afternoon (a little nervous about the "olympics.") I'll write again when I actually have something to say.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And now that the day is almost over, I actually do have something to say. It was a great first day of Induction. It was great meeting my fellow corps members, and the games were fun. We played a trivia game about the south (did you know that people stick their arm down a hole so a catfish will bite them, then they pull the catfish out? TIL it's called noodling.) We introduced ourselves to everyone, ate some dinner, and played school-related pictionary and had a teacher related relay race. I think I still have whipped cream up my nose. I was one of two on my team who had to eat a whipped cream pie, which had melted in this crazy Alabama heat. So I inhaled whipped cream soup. But I inhaled it the fastest! Not sure if I should brag about that, but oh well. :)
I'm feeling more comfortable with this whole TFA thing now. I was nervous, being away from home and out in the real world. But now that I'm getting to know the staff and the other CM's, I'm feeling much better. Go team purple!
